SCILLA stands for SatCom Instrument Luneberg Lens Antenna. During my final year of Engineering school, I worked for 6 months on the development of this robotic satellite antenna. My work consisted of augmenting a manual prototype with DC motors, then I designed the electronics and implemented the embedded software to control the antenna. The system was using a GPS for global positionning, an IMU for motion tracking, and a dsPIC30F to run the firmware.
